Ligero SLW V2, A New Year and New Hubs!

The word for the new hubs is Oversized. The hubshell is oversized, the bearings are oversized and the axle is oversized. Everything about the new oversized hubs was designed for improved performance and reliability.

Oversized hubshell: A new and larger rear hubshell provides better torque transfer and spoke support. The drive side flange is larger to bring the drive and non-drive spokes into perfectly tangential relation for 100% power transfer. The flanges are thicker for better spoke elbow support. The shell is now made from high strength 7005 T6 alloy.

Larger bearings: The rear hubshell and freehub body are attached by one very large bearing to help spread the load over the entire hub instead of just on the drive side bearing. Bearing preload adjustment is now easier to accomplish via a threaded collar.

Bigger pawls: The drive system is a new 3-pawl ratchet system. The pawls are now 30% wider and the drive ring is also 30% wider to give better torque transfer and to help stiffen them while under power. The angle of the pawls and teeth have been reduced to quiet the freewheel and reduce drag.

The front hub has the same ultra wide flange spacing as the previous version, but adds larger bearings and axle.
